We eagerly look forward to the first Bergen County
SBA hybrid meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on Monday,
September 30. The topic for the program is, ``AI: Embracing
the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Education``.
The program will offer a comprehensive overview of AI:
Artificial Intelligence. It will explore its various applications
and address both the potential benefits and challenges in the way
our school districts function and students work. The guest speaker
for this evening will be Dr. Peter J. Hughes, Superintendent of
Schools of the Cresskill Public School District. Dr. Hughes
previously served as a member and vice president of the Kinnelon
Board of Education in Morris County. Prior to Cresskill, Dr. Hughes
was superintendent in Haworth (5.5 years), District Director of
Curriculum and Instruction in Mount Olive (6.5 years), a school
administrator in Essex and Morris Counties, and a teacher in
Cresskill.
The meeting will include reports from the Bergen County
SBA Executive Committee Members, Bergen County Executive County
Superintendent Lou DeLisio, a vote on a proposed revision of the
Bergen County SBA Bylaws, a preview of Workshop 2024: Quest for
Student Success, an Advocacy Update from the NJSBA Advocacy Team,
and a Field Services update from NJSBA field service representative
Matt Lee.
We warmly invite all Board of Education Members,
Superintendents, and Business Administrators from across New Jersey
to participate in person at the Holiday Inn Hasbrouck
Heights-Meadowlands
or virtually. Your presence and insights at this important
event are highly valued.
